Dear Michael,

Thank you for your email requesting data pertaining to Total deaths for
any reason within 28 days of COVID-19 vaccine since roll out in December
2020 in the UK.

I am writing to confirm that the Office for National Statistics has now
completed its search for the information which you requested and the
response can be found here:

You Asked:

Please could you provide the total number of deaths for any reason within

We Said:

Thank you for your enquiry.

We are responsible for the production of mortality data for England and
Wales, this is driven by information collected from the death certificate
at death registration. National Records Scotland (NRS) and Northern
Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for
statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. They can be
contacted
at [1][email address] and [2][email address] respectively.

Deaths after receipt of COVID-19 vaccine in England and Wales:

You can find the number of deaths involving adverse reactions to the
COVID-19 vaccination in table 12 of our [3]Monthly Mortality Analysis
dataset. There are currently 0 deaths registered with the aligning ICD
codes for this. However, should this change, they will be updated in this
table.  This publication will be updated on 22 May 2021.

For deaths not involving adverse reactions to the vaccine, but occur after
vaccination has occurred, we currently hold data on vaccination for
England only and we are developing our analytical plans with an intention
to publish detailed vaccination statistics soon. Once we have finalised
these plans a publication date will be announced on our [4]Release
Calendar. This analysis will include all-cause mortality following
vaccination. If there are any people who have died from blood clots
following vaccination, they will be included in this analysis.
