I will now respond to your questions in turn.

 

1.  In your request for information, you referenced a video (Ref:
[1]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6O-J8ilg...) in which
Chris Michaels, Digital Director, says “when I first started counting
museum data sources we figured out there’s something like 250 different
data sources”. This figure is derived from research conducted before Chris
arrived at the Gallery and refers to total number of possible data sources
a museum might have access to. The Gallery is currently undertaking a
pilot a project using 12 data sources. The 12 data sources are listed
below in response to your question four.

 

2.  The Gallery does not use any personal data items from the 12 sources
in the data platform. The Gallery therefore does not hold any information
and has nothing to disclose in response to your question two.

 

3.  The National Gallery system collects information from Wi-Fi devices
for the purpose of administrating the Gallery’s Wi-Fi, the individual
items being:

1.       Status

2.       Description

3.       First Seen

4.       Last Seen

5.       Usage

6.       OS

7.       Assigned IPv4 Address

8.       802.1X policy

9.       Wireless capabilities

10.   Channel Width

11.   Connected to

12.   MAC Address

19.   Event Type

4.  The 12 data sources currently been used in the pilot with Dexibit are:

1.       Regional events (local authority feed)

2.       Tourism data (local authority feed)

3.       Weather (AerisWeather)

4.       Earned media (Google Alerts, Gorkana media analysis)

5.       Ticketing (Attendance numbers)

6.       Wifi (Lat/Long of device location)

7.       Facebook (Number of followers, Number of interactions)

8.       Twitter (Number of followers, Number of interactions)

9.       Instagram (Number of followers, Number of interactions)

10.   You Tube (Number of followers, Number of interactions)

11.   Footfall (manual counting)

12.   Web analytics (Google Analytics)

 

5.  Data processing is only used in order to undertake exhibition
forecasting for ticket sales and attendance. This processing takes place
on the Dexibit servers and no personal data is used.

 

If you are unhappy with the way the National Gallery has handled your
