Dear Mr Wilcox

I write in connection with your request for information dated 3^rd
December 2019 under the Freedom of Information Act.

Specifically you asked:

1, How many submissions of video were made through your Dash Cam Video and
near miss websites or any other submission method for the 3 months of
September, October & November 2019 and for the same months in 2018.

2, Can this be split down by who submitted the video - Motorist, Cyclist
or Pedestrian

3, For each submitter type can I know how the video was dealt with: No
Further Action, Warning Letter, Notice of Intended Prosecution or other.

Our response:

Your request has been considered and I regret to advise you that your
request is refused because we estimate that the cost of retrieving the
requested information would exceed the cost limits under the Act which is
currently set at £450 or 18 staff hours work.  This letter represents a
Refusal Notice under the Act.

This is because the information requested in questions 2 and 3 is not
centrally recorded and would involve an extensive search of our files to
find and collate it. With reference to question 2, each submission that
resulted in an offence being recorded would need to be manually reviewed
in order to determine whether this detail was recorded. In addition, with
reference to question 3, each recorded offence would need to be manually
reviewed to ascertain the outcome, i.e. no further action or a warning
letter. It is estimated it would take considerably longer than 18 hours to
comply. With over 246 submissions during the time periods requested, it is
estimated it would take over 18 hours to comply with your request.

If you would like to refine your request in order to bring it down to a
more manageable level, we may be able to supply you with some of the
information you require. This can be done by omitting question 2 and
question 3. Alternatively, for question 3, you could request the number of
submissions that resulted in a notice of intended prosecution.

Yours sincerely

Becky Berridge
