Dear Lancashire Constabulary,

Can you tell me how much Lancashire Police have spent on providing security for the Dale Cregan trial from the start of the trial up to today, March 15, 2013?

Could you give a break down of these costs?

Yours faithfully,

Dear Mr Smith,

Lancashire Constabulary did respond to your original request, and advised that it was the intention of the force to publish information relating to the cost of the trial after its conclusion.

The Cregan trial concluded at Preston Crown Court on the 13th June 2013. The Police & Crime Commissioner for Lancashire has already released a statement in relation to the costs of the trial, a copy of which can be found attached.

It is anticipated that further information will be released in the near future once the force has had a proper opportunity to fully assess the major security operation conducted in association with this high profile case. I would therefore suggest that you monitor the local press, as well as the websites of the Constabulary (http://www.lancashire.police.uk/news) and the Police and Crime Commissioner (http://www.lancashire-pcc.gov.uk/News-an...), for further statements on this matter as they are released.
