Dear FOI Team,
Please review this request.
You have provided a link to the data by age by registration date, not occurence date as requested.
You provide deaths by date of occurence for all ages aggregated and also break down COVID deaths by age so it is clear that you have this data and are able to easily break it down by the simple detail I have requested without directing me down the route of a bespoke request.
Please provide the data and include it in the referenced weekly report going forward in the public interest.
Yours sincerely,
Joel Smalley
Dear Joel,
Thank you for your email.
Should you wish to obtain mortality data from all causes by occurrence and
age-band, rather than registration, this is something that our mortality
analysis team would need to create as bespoke analysis.
Our organisation could provide this for you via our ad hoc bespoke
services route. Section 21(1) and (2)(a) of the Freedom of information Act
2000 (FOIA) states that information is exemption from disclosure under
FOIA if this is reasonably accessible to the applicant via another route,
even if that information is only accessible at a charge. Our bespoke
services are deemed to be reasonably accessible, as we advertise their
availability on our website via our [1]publication scheme, along with our
charging schedule for staff time spent working on ad hoc bespoke
productions of analysis. This schedule is available via the following
link, which may be of use to you:
[2]https://www.ons.gov.uk/aboutus/whatwedo/...
As stated in your response, please contact [3][email address] to
discuss your request for bespoke services further.
To note, as your request was for daily deaths by date of occurrence by
single year of age, our response still stands that this information would
be disclosive.
I will ensure to pass on your suggestion to the Health Data team that this
data could be included in the weekly publications in future.
We hope this helps to clarify our response.
Kind regards,
