Cutty Sark Fire

The request was refused by London Fire Brigade.

Dear London Fire Commissioner (London Fire Brigade),

Please provide me with official copies of the reports produced into the investigation of incidents of fire, which seriously damaged the historic clipper ship 'Cutty Sark' on May 21st 2007, and also the second fire that broke out in October of 2014.

Yours faithfully,

Tony Sharp

London Fire Brigade

Dear Tony,

Thank you for your request.

This will be considered under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and we will respond as soon as we are able. Please note, given the current situation with the Coronavirus, this may be outside of the normal, expected timeframe for a FOI response (20 working days).

Thank you for your patience, with kind regards

London Fire Brigade

Dear Tony,

Thank you for your freedom of information request regarding Cutty Sark Fire.

In response to your request, I would like to direct you to the readily available and wide range of information about the incidents that the LFB publishes through the London Data Store. Details of every incident responded to since January 2009 are available via this link - https://data.london.gov.uk/dataset/londo...

Fire investigation reports are not available under the freedom of information act (FOIA) as they are considered a chargeable service and, as such, will incur a fee. As a result they are exempt via Section 21 of the FOIA - Information accessible to applicant by other means. Regrettably this means we cannot provide you with a copy of the primary fire report (or the information held within it) without payment.

Also, in order to request a copy of a fire report, you have to either be eligible (an owner/a tenant/local borough council/insurance firm or loss adjustor) or have an eligible party obtain and share the report with you, with the consent of the LFB.

Further information about how to obtain an LFB incident report is published on our website and can be accessed through the following link: https://www.london-fire.gov.uk/about-us/...

Thanks
