Current IT infrastructure and IT capability are not fit for purpose to support the new operating model?
Dear Avon and Somerset Constabulary,
The latest HMIC report states:
The constabulary recognise that its current IT infrastructure and capability are not fit for purpose to support the new operating model.
1. Please describe the areas/functions where the current IT infrastructure and IT capability are not fit for purpose to support the new operating model?
2. What is the current estimated cost to bring the IT infrastructure and capability into a fit for purpose state to support the new operating model?
3. Does the new IT Strategy cover the bringing the IT infrastructure and capability into a fit for purpose state to support the new operating model?
Yours faithfully,

Dear Mr Orr
I write in connection with your request for information dated 26^th
September concerning information technology.
Specifically you asked: “The latest HMIC report states: The constabulary

“1. Please describe the areas/functions where the current IT
infrastructure and IT capability are not fit for purpose to support the
new operating model?”
“2. What is the current estimated cost to bring the IT infrastructure and
capability into a fit for purpose state to support the new operating
model?”
“3. Does the new IT Strategy cover the bringing the IT infrastructure and
capability into a fit for purpose state to support the new operating
model?”
In relation to questions 1 -3 , the Avon and Somerset Constabulary
Information and Communication Technology Strategy outlines how the IT
infrastructure programme will underpin and enable the new ways of working
currently being implemented within the Constabulary. I have attached a
copy of this strategy.
Investments in technology are approved by the Police and Crime
Commissioner (PCC) and those investment decisions are published on the PCC
website.
Yours sincerely
