Dear NHSX,

I would like to request more information about the following contract:

The description for which states that it is for 'Discovery and Software Development Services to support the COVID Letters Solution'. Can you please let me know what the Covid Letters Solution is, and what exactly this contract entails. From the minimal information provided, it is not clear what this contract relates to or what its purpose is.

NHS England holds information in relation to your request.

NHS Covid Pass letters are available to eligible residents in England who
have limited digital access and cannot use or access the NHS App or NHS.uk
service. The letters can be requested online at [2]nhs.uk or by calling
119 and are available in International travel version and Domestic
version.

The domestic letter is for use at those events and venues in England which
voluntarily choose to check 18+ individuals COVID status. The letter for
international travel can be requested by those 12+ who have received a
full primary course of vaccination, this provides a record of all COVID-19
vaccinations received and includes a 2D barcode.

Individuals can also request letters in accessible formats, including
audio, large print and/or braille. Guidance on the letter is available on
[3]gov.uk in easy-read and British Sign Language.

Guidance which explains the content of the letter in 17 different
languages, is available to request by post, and is also available online. 

The referenced contract provided the design and development of the
supporting technical solution to the existing capability to enable the
extension and provision of the NHS COVID Pass Travel letter service to
children aged 12 to 15.
