Covid 19 sorry for the self employed

Gwrthodwyd y cais gan Her Majesty's Treasury.

Dear Her Majesty's Treasury,

Following the chancellor's statement of 26/03/2020 I note he has created a category of people who are both employed and self-employed and who make more than 50% of their income from employment rather than self employment ( "the category"). The category is to be excluded from self employment support. Please may I have the following information:

1. All documents, ministerial submissions and (most importantly) public sector equalities assessments to show that the public sector equality duty under s149 Equality Act 2010 was complied with when the chancellor made the decision to exclude the category from support for their self employed income.

2. Documents to support the chancellor's claim that the category has an average income of over £200,000.

If you are off the view that answering both of these questions will cost you too much then I would ask for you to answer just question 1.

Yours faithfully,

Robert Ward
