Dear Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh,

Under the Freedom of Information Act, please could you provide me with the number of students who have accessed counselling services provided by the university for each of the past three academic years (2014/15, 2015/16 and 2016/17).

If possible, please provide a breakdown by the type of issue the students are seeking help for.

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION (SCOTLAND) ACT 2002 - INFORMATION REQUEST

 

I acknowledge receipt of your request for information that we received on
8 November 2017. Your request is being considered. If we hold the
information you will receive it promptly, and no later than the 7 December
2017 which is 20 working days from the day we received your request,
subject to the information not being exempt from disclosure.

Good afternoon,

 

I refer to your request for information on the number of students who have
used the University’s counselling service. Please find the information in
the table below:

Requests for counselling could include when a client presents with a
mental health condition that has been diagnosed or not diagnosed, and
would also include an infinite number of psychological and emotional
presentations and life issues. There is usually overlapping reasons so
there is no way for the University to collate information on the issues
that students are seeking help for.
