Dear South Oxfordshire District Council,
My Account No: 45479869
I have just received my Council Tax bill for 2020/21, which shows that the expenditure for Highways & Transport Services is 9%.
As I have made several posts through FixMyStreet for the unblocking of road gullies directly outside my house to no avail I would like to know how much of my Council Tax is paid to Oxford City Council for Highway Maintenance and transport. There is no annual/regular/scheduled cleaning or maintenance of the roads and pavements in this village and no regular daily public transport service as such. There is one bus a week if I recall correctly.
Please confirm my Council Tax cost contribution for this particular Council Service as requested above.
Thank you for your Freedom of Information/Environmental Information Regulation request, which was received by South Oxfordshire District Council on X9 March 2020.
Please accept this email as confirmation that your request has been received and is being considered by the relevant department and that a response will be sent to you within 20 working days, subject to the information not being exempt and subject to any need for clarification.

Dear Mr Akielan
Thank you for your Freedom of Information request, which was logged under
FOI 19/993 South and passed to me to respond accordingly.
Under Section 1 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 2000 Act) you
are entitled to be informed in writing whether the council holds the
information specified in your request and, if that is the case, to have
that information communicated to you unless any of the statutory
exemptions apply. I have considered your request and can confirm that I do
not believe any of the statutory exemptions apply.
South Oxfordshire District Council acts as a collection agent for the
other major precepts (such as Oxfordshire County Council) that make up the
council tax bill and, therefore, any questions relating to any particular
service provided by those other precepting authorities would need to be
directed to them. The billing pack provided with your council tax bill
includes information relating to the Oxfordshire County Council budget and
their expenditure in the form of a leaflet. For additional information
you can contact Oxfordshire County Council via their web site at
Please treat this as the councils formal response under the 2000 Act. If
you are not satisfied with the decision I have made in response to your
request, you can make a request for an internal review by emailing
[South Oxfordshire District Council request email] within 40 working days from the date we issued
our response. If you remain dissatisfied after following that procedure,
you have the right under Section 50 of the 2000 Act to complain to the
Information Commissioner if you feel the council has not dealt with your
request properly. You can contact the Commissioner at Wycliffe House,
Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF (telephone number: 01625 545745).
