Council policy on shopping trolleys abandoned in the street or on council land

The request was successful.

Dear Bristol City Council,

This is a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act.

As I could find no relevant information on the council website, please could you disclose what is the council's policy in respect of shopping trolleys abandoned either in the street or on land controlled or owned by the council.

For example:

1) Does the council recover such trolleys?
2) Are recovered trolleys returned to their respective owners and if so, are those owners charged for the council's recovery actions?

Yours faithfully,

Steve Woods
