Council Carbon Reduction Strategy
Dear South Ayrshire Council,
In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I'd be most grateful if you can provide me with the following information in relation to the Council’s carbon reduction strategy
1. How much CO2e does the Council produce under Scopes 1, 2 and 3?
2. How often does the Council calculate your Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions?
3. Which of the Council’s activities are included in your Scope 3 emissions calculations?
4. What is the estimated financial budget to meet your Net Zero/Carbon Neutral target?
5. How much has been spent to date in reaching your Net Zero/Carbon Neutral target?
6. How are you financing this investment?
I thank you in advance for your help and look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Conner Toy

Good afternoon
Thank you for your recent enquiry which was given the above reference
number.
Q1, 2 and 3: The Council reports it’s emissions annually in relation to
Scotland’s Public Bodies Duties Reporting. This report shows what
emissions the Council calculate in relation to scope 1, 2 and 3. These
reports for South Ayrshire Council are published and available on the
Sustainable Scotland Network website: [1]Reports
(sustainablescotlandnetwork.org)
Q4: In order for the council to meet net zero all of the spend of the
council must have net zero implications, so the budget required will be
the full council budget.
Q5: The Council does not hold this information.
Q6: The transition to net zero is financed by all the resources available
to the council as it is only through working to transform all our daily
business that net zero will be delivered.
