Costs of televised CQC Board meetings

The request was partially successful.

Dear Care Quality Commission,

I am thankful to watch the CQC Board meetings online and I believe the agency, who filmsd them are also resp for uploading them to You Tube.

A couple of questions please:
1) How much is the currant annual spend on agency fees for filming CQC Board meetings?
2) Are televised CQC Board meetings the sum total of the whole meeting or is just the public part televised?
3) Is there ever a second off-camera meeting of CQC Board?

Yours faithfully,
D.Speers

This section confirms that our board meetings are divided into two
sessions:

“…the board meets for a private morning session at first before opening up
the meeting for the public to join later.

Our aim is to discuss all items listed on the agenda during the public
session. However, due to our duty to protect confidentiality, some items
will be discussed in the private session. Items that are restricted to
private discussion are:

-       Discussing cases that may identify people who use services,
carers, staff members, discussing cases which may identify them.

-       Redundancies.

-       Details of specific CQC regulatory action (public discussion may
affect the findings).

-       Legal advice to the board and matters which involve negotiation
with other organisations.

-       Strategy or board development sessions, and all board
sub-committee meetings.

There are also matters that will typically be taken in private session,
but a judgement by the Chair will be required first, for example:

-       Consideration of government policy.

-       Matters to do with our relationship to stakeholders, in particular
the sponsorship department.

-       Documents under preparation with future publication dates
including budget objectives, service strategies, business plans, annual
reports and other statutory reports, draft consultation documents.”
