Dear Mr Harwood

Thank you for your email. I have considered your request under the Freedom
of Information Act 2000.

We are not able to provide an answer to your request as the information is
not held. A large part of the cost of carrying out an investigation is the
cost of GMC staff working on the case. However, GMC staff do not record
how many hours they have worked on a particular investigation. Because of
this there is no method by which we could calculate how much was spent on
each investigation. I’m sorry I am not able to be more helpful.

Your right to appeal

If you would like to appeal against the decision please set out your
reasons and write to Elizabeth Hiley, Information Access Manager, at
[1][email address]. You can also appeal to the Information
Commissioner, the regulator of the FoIA 2000– we can provide more details
about this if you need them.

Kind Regards

Matt
