Dear General Dental Council,

Under the Freedom of information Act please find a request for the following information:

1. With Regard to Appeals made by registrants in the matter of decisions made by Committees to include but not exclusively Fitness to Practice Committee, the Investigating Committee and the Interim Orders committee

a. The overall cost of defending those appeals borne by the General Dental Council, broken down in to
a. Legal Costs – to include but not exclusively Legal Counsel, expert opinion, and other associate costs.
b. Preparatory Costs – to include but not exclusively IT, secretarial, administrative costs.
c. Associated Expenses – to include but not exclusively Travel and Subsistence, Accommodation, Transport etc
b. The average length of time an appeal process takes, broken down by registrant type.

2. The number of cases requiring Interim Orders as follows
a. Total cases for the years 2002 to 2014 broken down by year.
b. Case numbers broken down by registrant type per year

3. The following information relating to the Human Rights Act to include but not exclusively:
a. Minutes of any meeting, discussion, or internal communication such as memo or email where the implications of Human Rights legislation was discussed with reference to Fitness To Practice Proceedings, the Interim Orders Committees, and the Investigating committees, to include but not exclusively any discussion over the type of information to be made available publically prior to the proceedings to be held.
b. Minutes of any meeting, discussion, or internal communication such as memo, or email where the implication of Human Rights legislation was discussed with reference to the information contained in the public register or registrants, with particular reference to registrants addresses.
c. Any decision made relating to those discussions.
