Convenants

We're waiting for Steve Morris to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Babergh District Council,

Somebody has told me that the council houses in Rectory Lane in Brantham have got a covenant on them about who lives there and other things to do with the houses and gardens.

Please let us know what they are and what is allowed or not and also if there used to be some convenants that have changed over the years and if it did, what were they before and how come they got changed?

Yours faithfully,

Steve Morris

Dear Sir,

We refer to your recent request for information.

Request:

Somebody has told me that the council houses in Rectory Lane in Brantham have got a covenant on them about who lives there and other things to do with the houses and gardens.
Please let us know what they are and what is allowed or not and also if there used to be some convenants that have changed over the years and if it did, what were they before and how come they got changed?

Response:

The only apparent covenant relates to a requirement to attach a fence as set out in paragraph 2 of the attached copy conveyance. " The purchasers herby covenant with the Vendor that the Purchasers and its successors in title will forthwith erect a six feet high concrete post and chain link fence on the boundaries marked T on the said plan and forever thereafter to maintain the same to the satisfaction of the Vendor's Surveyors for the time being." There is no mention of any covenants being removed or amended.
