In this respect I require the information for each of the years commencing 2000 - 2004, to include full details of the actual holiday entitlement including reference to bank holidays and payment in lieu for working on bank holidays.

Finally, I would also enquire confirmation or otherwise that a part time worker during 2000 - 2004 would be entitled to the benefits of a full time worker on a pro rata basis.

Dear _Freedom of Information,

My full name is Christine Russell

Yours sincerely,

The so-called "Freedom of Information Officer" from Slough Unitary Authority is mistaken in law that the law requires a "full name". The law does not and if the SUA FOI "Officer" knew the law, she would know what she wrote is not an accurate statement of the law.

Fooling or misleading the public is not a lawful activity of any local authority including SUA.

Ms Russell

Please find below the reply to your recent FOI request.

a)         I require information confirming the criteria and eligibility
for employees of Slough Borough Council to receive contractual holiday
pay.

Current Annual leave Entitlement:

Employees on a full and part time permanent or fixed term contract are
currently eligible to the annual leave quoted below; note that these are
based on full-time employment and calculated on the basis of the complete
year’s service. Temporary staff are also eligible to the same entitlement
after the qualifying period of 12 weeks.

government continuous less than 5 years’ local government continuous

The council’s leave year currently runs from 1^st April to 31^st March.

Part year entitlement is calculated on the basis of 1/12 of the annual
leave entitlement for each completed month of service subject to local
government service.

In addition, staff are entitled to 8 public and bank holidays (pro rata
for part-time staff).

b)         In this respect I require the information for each of the years
commencing 2000 - 2004, to include full details of the actual holiday
entitlement including reference to bank holidays and payment in lieu for
working on bank holidays.

Annual leave Entitlement for 2000-2004:

In addition, staff were also entitled to 8 public and bank holidays (pro

Employees required to work on a public or extra statutory holiday were, in
addition to the normal pay for that day, paid at plain time rate for all
hours worked within their normal working hours for that day. In addition,
at a later date, time off with pay was allowed as follows:

calculated on a pro rata basis for part time staff during 2000-2004

Dear _Freedom of Information,

Thank you for the information supplied to me under my FOI request.

I notice that entitlement for contractual holiday pay refers to a "local grade". I would now wish to know for the periods I had previously requested precisely what "local grade" refers to: ie would this apply to all employees irrespective of their status? If so, I would appreciate if you could inform me of the holiday entitlement for other employees who would be classified on a higher status than the local grade.

Specifically, I have in mind a professional person with a PhD and what likely grade somebody with a PhD might reach.

Yours sincerely,

Christine

Ms Russell

'Local Grade' refers to the grading structure that was in existence during the time period in question. Local Grade = Levels 1 - 10

All Senior Managers outside the local grade would have been entitled to the following:

Annual Leave: You are entitled to 30 days per annum per complete holiday year. This is inclusive of the three extra statutory days awarded within the Authority. The annual leave provision is increased to 33 and 36 days inclusive after 5 and 10 years' service respectively.
