Dear Ms Snodgrove,

Thank you for your e-mail, I am writing to advise you that your enquiry does not fall under the Freedom of Information regime.

It may be helpful if I explain that the Freedom of Information Act (2000) gives individuals and organisations the right of access to all types of recorded information held, at the time the request is received, by public authorities such as the Ministry of Justice (MoJ). Section 84 of the Act states that in order for a request for information to be handled as a Freedom of Information (FOI) request, it must be for recorded information. For example, a Freedom of Information request would be for a copy of a policy, rather than an explanation as to why we have that policy in place. On occasion, the Ministry of Justice receives requests that do not ask for recorded information, but ask more general questions about, for example, a policy, opinion or a decision.

Since you are asking for information on the proccess of contracts for transcripts and translators, this will be best dealt with by the Ministerial Correspondence Unit (MCU) who will process your query as Official Correspondence. I have copied them into this e-mail but they can be contacted via the contact details below, should you wish to follow up this e-mail.:

Dear Angela Snodgrove

The Ministry of Justice did respond to your request on 19 June 2014. I have attached that response for you again.

It may be helpful to explain that a clarification response under Section 1(3) of the FOIA counts as the response to the request.

You have already replied to this response we issued and clarified your questions. This is being treated as a new request and being processed under FOI reference 91702.

I hope this helps clarify the issue for you.

Kind regards

Dear Sirs

I wish to lodge a formal complaint against the Ministry of Justice. The entire correspondence is set out on the website link below.

https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/c...

You will see that they were tardy all the way through. Eventually they asked a silly question asking me to clarify my question.

I SUBMITTED THIS CLARIFICATION TWICE.

They are now pretending that they have met all the requirements but, despite my clarifying, they have not answered my questions.

The internal review was completely flawed. I have had problems with the Ministry of Justice with regard to their tardy responses and their failures to respond directly to the website where the question has been posed. They will do anything not to answer questions.

Will you please issue me with a complaint file number, and obtain for me the answers that I need.

Yours sincerely,

Procurement Group Programme,

Dear Data Access & Compliance Unit,

You only issued the response three days after I complained to the Information Commissioner on July and after I had been given the run around by the internal review people.

My original request was dated May 29 and you at first refused to deal with it at all.

Yours sincerely,

Angela Snodgrove

Dear Data Access & Compliance Unit,

I would like to know why you have redacted the pricing/award information please. Under what anti-transparency law have you failed to disclose this information please?

Yours sincerely,
