Keith Mallen (Ataliwyd y cyfrif)

Dear Sir or Madam,

You may know about a company registered in the UK by one Peter Van Gelder as

Trading as:
Westminster Forum Projects

Registrant type:
UK Limited Company, (Company number: 3856121)

Operating a website at

http://www.westminsterforumprojects.co.uk/

Where the claim is made that

http://www.westminsterforumprojects.co.u...

"The Westminster Media Forum is completely impartial and has no policy agenda of its own. While we are grateful for the support and advice on themes that we receive from sponsors, all editorial decisions remain with the Forum in order to maintain impartiality. The Westminster Media Forum strives to be as inclusive, encompassing and relevant as possible. This is achieved through a standard practice of questions and comments from the floor at all sessions and through a degree of flexibility in the planning and scheduling of events, which enables current and newly emerging issues to be reflected and discussed."

Information elsewhere

http://www.spinprofiles.org/index.php/Pe...

Suggests that this 'company' is actually run by a Parliamentary Lobbyist and, as such, may make claims regarding impartiality but is unlikely to adhere to the true meaning of the concept.

My specific concern, and there will be others that arise, is that this Group will be holding a meeting to discuss On Line advertising.

http://www.westminsterforumprojects.co.u...

Where, amongst others, one of the invited speakers is

"Advertising enhanced or displaced? – the growth of sponsorship, product placement and new technology
Themes: What non-advertising marketing techniques are growing: sponsorship, promotions? Who is using them and how? To what extent are they set to substitute for traditional spot advertising? What are the prospects for behavioural targeting, other new techniques and the technology that supports them? Views on the role of personal data in the future of marketing. How will data supplied by consumers or mined through behavioural analysis be monetised? What will be the effect of the UK restrictions on product placement and how are attitudes to product placement changing?

Mike Moore, Global Commercial Director, Phorm"

Given the fact that Westminster Forum Projects under control of Peter Van Gelder, and perhaps others, is acting to lobby Parliament on issues that will affect policy decisions without free access to that information.

http://www.westminsterforumprojects.co.u...

Or even public knowledge of their existence.

I would request.

1) Full disclosure of all communications between Members of The Westminster Forums Group and anyone associated to Members of Parliament.

2) Full disclosure of all communications between Members of Parliament to Westminster Forums Group and anyone associated.

Yours faithfully,

Keith Mallen

FOICOMMONS, Tŷ'r Cyffredin

Dear Mr Mallen,

Thank you for your request for information dated 26th July 2009,
received by us on 27th July 2009, and is copied below.

Following the recent publication of information about MP's expenses, we
are receiving unprecedented numbers of requests which, unfortunately,
has affected our ability to consistently meet the statutory targets for
a response. We are allocating additional resources to deal with this,
but in some cases our responses are taking longer than we would like or
would commit to normally.

Information relating to allowances for the period 2008/09 and 2009/10 is
currently being prepared for publication and will be available as soon
as possible.

We will endeavour to respond promptly to your request within 20 working
days i.e. on or before 24th August 2009.

If you have any queries about your request, please use the request
number quoted in the subject line of this email.

Yours,

Dear Mr Dawson

Thank you for your prompt reply. However either this is a general message to explain current delays in processing FOI requests or you have misunderstood my original message. I am not seeking information relating to MPs expenses/allowances.

Can you please re-read my original message and confirm that you understand its contents. If not then I would be only too pleased to provide further clarification.

Yours sincerely,

Keith Mallen

Dear Mr Mallen

Thank you for your request for information dated 26 July 2009.

You asked for information in relation to contact between Westminster
Forum Projects and Members of Parliament. The response is given below.

The House does not hold the information you are seeking.

Westminster Forum Projects may have contractual arrangements with All
Party Groups at Westminster. All-Party Groups (APGs) are informal
cross-party groups that have no official status within Parliament. They
are essentially run by and for Members of the Commons and Lords and do
not receive funding or administrative support from the House of Commons.

The House does maintain a list of such groups and a register that
provides information about the support available to them from outside
bodies including any financial support above a certain level.

The list, Register and rules can be found via the following link.
http://www.parliament.uk/about/how/membe...

You may, if dissatisfied with the treatment of your request, ask the
House of Commons to conduct an internal review of this decision.
Requests for internal review should be addressed to: Freedom of
Information Officer, Department of Finance and Administration, House of
Commons London SW1 OAA or [House of Commons request email] . If the decision to
apply s.34 of the 2000 Act in respect of your request is upheld by
review, a certificate signed by the Speaker may be issued. This
certificate would provide conclusive evidence that the exemption was
required for the purpose described above.

Hi Brenda,

Thanks for the reply and the extra information.

Apologies if my query was inappropriate or went to the wrong place. I am not experienced in the workings of parliament.

I'll have a look at your suggestions

Thanks Again

Keith
