Dear Environment Agency,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Environment Agency's handling of my FOI request 'Conditons relating to burning of solvents and waste products by Steetley Dolomite, Southfield Lane, Whitwell'.

I have been asked to pay a charge of £50 (£60 with VAT) as a copyright fee and referred to some standards conditions. I have received no explanation why my particular request involves the release of copyrighted information or what this specific information is. The levying of such fees seems designed to thwart the FOI principles and prevent both the pubic and elected representatives obtaining public information.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address:

Yours faithfully,

Duncan Kerr

Good Afternoon Duncan

Whilst preparing the response to your above Request for Information, my
Technical Colleagues are asking me the following questions:

'Could we find out how far back we need to go?'
'Would the Customer like monitoring results for all the monitoring carried
out or just dioxins?'.

I have also been asked to advise you, depending on how far back you would
like the results to go, and the amount of information required, it may
result in delaying the response to you, but please feel free to contact me
on the number below if you have any queries.

Thanks and kind regards

Louise.

Dear MidsEast, External Relations,

FAO : Louise Parker

Hi Louise and thanks for the reply, I've answered your questions below:

'Could we find out how far back we need to go?'

Two to three years would be fine

'Would the Customer like monitoring results for all the monitoring carried
out or just dioxins?'.

At this stage I'm just looking for data on Dioxins as that is the concern that has been raised with me.

Yours sincerely,

Duncan Kerr

P We’re doing our bit to help the drought. On average we use only 4.85m^3
of water per FTE in our offices compared to a national average in the UK
of 5.89m^3. Through a range of water saving measures, we have cut our
annual usage by 18%, saving 12,338m^3 of water – enough to fill five
Olympic swimming pools. Please save water where you can.
