Complaints About Health and Safety in Rented Homes

(a) the number of complaints received by CCC about health and safety concerns in rented homes in 2020, 2021 and (to date by month) in 2022.

(b) the number of the above complaints by year that related to:

(i) fire and electrical safety
(ii) poor heating
(iii) a lack of hot water
(iv) damp and mould
(v) deficiencies that increase the risk of falls
(vi) other

Our response:

Canterbury City Council holds the information you have requested.

The nature of part b would require a manual review of each record to
establish which category it falls within. To that end we estimate that the
time required would exceed the costs limit provided by FOIA2000 s12.
Consequently this FOI is refused under s12.

However, under our duty to assist per FOIA2000 s16, rather than ask you to
submit an FOI purely in relation to part a (which you could choose to do
or not do) we provide this information below in the hope it assist you.
