Complaint by Former police sergeant and BBC producer Paul Atkinson

Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner Nid oedd gan y wybodaeth y gofynnwyd amdani.

Dear Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner,

I request a copy of the report into the wrongful arrest and detainment of former police officer and BBC producer Paul Atkinson.

The IPCC was investigating corruption involving murder squad detectives - investigating the murder of Brian Waters - and Michael Todd, the then Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police.

Following the recent arrest of Christopher Guest More in Malta, the content of this report may have a profound effect upon his upcoming trial and may cast doubt upon the safety of the guilty verdicts of his co-accused whom are serving life sentences.

The public interest in releasing this report is paramount.

If this request is unsuccessful; I request the details of any financial payment made by the police to Mr Atkinson, and, further, whether this settlement was paid on condition that the report was to be withheld from public view.

Yours faithfully,

David Harper

Police Crime Commissioner, Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner
