Closure and exit-only statistics for Camden Town Underground station

We're waiting for Helena Blackstone to read a recent response and update the status.

Helena Blackstone

Dear Transport for London,

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 I seek access to the following statistics:

1. The number of days Camden Town Underground station was closed in calendar years 2012, 2013 and the first 10 months of 2014. The number of days Camden Town Underground was interchange and exit-only for those years.

2. If possible, I would like to have these numbers broken down by the reason for closure or interchange and exit-only status e.g. due to overcrowding, fire alarm.

3. On how many of those days was there one or more faulty barrier at the station.

4. If you hold the information, on how many of those days was there extra police presence in the station due to a pre-organised event, such as a concert.

I would prefer to receive this information electronically,
preferably as a data set, eg. in Excel, NOT as a PDF.

If the decision is made to withhold some of this data using
exemptions in the Data Protection Act, please inform me of that
fact and cite the exemptions used.

If some parts of this request are easier to answer than others, I
would ask that you release the available data as soon as possible.

If you need any clarification then please do not hesitate to
contact me. Under Section 16 it is your duty to provide advice and
assistance and so I would expect you to contact me if you find this
request unmanageable in any way.

I would be grateful if you could confirm in writing that you have
received this request, and I look forward to hearing from you
within the 20-working day statutory time period.

Kind regards,
Helena Blackstone

Dear Ms Blackstone

TfL Ref: FOI-1288-1415

Thank you for your email which we received on 3 November 2014 asking for
information about Camden Town Underground station.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I apologise for
the delay in replying. I can confirm that we do hold the information you
require.

1. The number of days Camden Town Underground station was closed in
calendar years 2012, 2013 and the first 10 months of 2014. The number of
days Camden Town Underground was interchange and exit-only for those
years.

2. If possible, I would like to have these numbers broken down by the
reason for closure or interchange and exit-only status e.g. due to
overcrowding, fire alarm.

Please refer to the attached spreadsheet reports – Station Control
Incident Report (EIRF) and Camden Town Full Station Closures. Any
noteworthy incident, including a station closing to incoming traffic, is
recorded on an Electronic Incident Reporting Form (EIRF).

Camden Town station is for interchange and exit only from 11.00 until
17.00 on most Sundays due to the high volume of customers exiting the
station. Incoming customers are encouraged to walk to nearby Mornington
Crescent station instead.

3. On how many of those days was there one or more faulty barrier at the
station.

Assuming the term "barrier" is a reference to the ticket gateline, none of
the partial station closures were due to faulty barriers..

Faults of one or more of the gates would not result in a station closing
to customers.

4. If you hold the information, on how many of those days was there extra
police presence in the station due to a pre-organised event, such as a
concert.

This information is not held by TfL. You may wish to direct this question
to the British Transport Police (BTP) as they hold information concerning
the deployment of their officers.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable
to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached
information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
