Cllr Joanne Calvert, and Daniel Hughes Fox St Village Liverpool John Howard & Lee Carrol

We're waiting for Matt Williams to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Liverpool City Council,

Under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act we are requesting all past information on Daniel Hughes and Hughes PR

1/ Daniel Hughes in several statements claims to have worked for and with Liverpool city council can the council explain his role and what payments were made to his company.

2/ The Mayor of Liverpool in the past had said he has never met Mr. Hughes or used the company “Hughes PR.” Is this correct?

3/ Cllr Joeann Calvert has refused to reply or even come forward as to her partnership and paid role working for Daniel Hughes and Hughes PR, on the failed scam Fox Street Village project that had to be closed down as it was a huge fire risk, has the council not checked her involvement with Gary Howard, John Howard and Lee Carroll all were behind Fox Street Village did Cllr Calvert, not inform the council of the past history of both John Howard and Lee Carroll while she was working with and for them with Daniel Hughes and Hughes PR?

Several requests were sent to her and to Cllr Gary Millar, with the matter of the fire risk building and who John Howard and Lee Carroll was.

Two directors of a Liverpool recruitment agency have been given director bans for a total of 27 years for exploiting workers.
John Howard and Lee Carroll of 7 Stars have been disqualified for 15 and 12 years, respectively.
The Insolvency Service said two men also used unlicensed suppliers and foreign sources to find workers who were subject to verbal and physical threats. The company incurred a VAT debt of £325,361 for the period when Carroll was a director.
Ken Beasley, the Official Receiver in the Public Interest Unit at the Insolvency Service, said: “The company brought in foreign workers to the UK with the promise of jobs. The reality was that the workers were placed in unfit and unsafe accommodation, had deductions made from their wages for the accommodation and were paid below the minimum wage.

The council of Liverpool along with Cllr Gary Millar, Cllr Joeann Calvert, Danial Hughes, Georgie Morgan ex- Liverpool Echo reporter, and Liam Thorp all were told and fully informed in 2018/19 as to events at Fox Street Village.

In fact one local businessman was told his car and home would be set on fire if he talked about the state of the building in Fox Street Village, he had a wife and children to think of.

Was there was a cover-up, no transparency, integrity or follow- up by these persons, Liam Thorp was called many times, however he totally refused to ask both, Cllr Calvert and Daniel Hughes any questions, he was then asked why he was covering up for Cllr Calvert who the Mayors daughter is he just put the phone down.

Yours faithfully,
Save This City group

Mr. Williams
