Dear Tom,

Please find a notated response to your 7 Questions in respect of Seftons
current strategy in respect of Climate Change Adaptation.

1)    Do you have a Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and/or Policy (or
similar)?  If so please attach.

Sefton Council have signed up to the Climate Local voluntary agreement,
coordinated by the Local Government Association, as the Government has
stated this is the preferred method of communication between Central and
Local Government.  Climate Local encapsulates individual plans and
strategies related to climate change adaptation (plus mitigation) such as
the flood plan and the heat wave plan.

2)    Has this document been adopted by Council or Cabinet (or similar),
if so, when?

Yes. Cabinet Member Environmental, 10th April 2013

3)    Has a Councillor been assigned to champion this Strategy/Policy (or
similar), if so, who?

Climate Local falls with the remit of Cabinet Member Environment as lead.

4)    Is the strategy/policy (or similar) supported by an
action/programme/project plan? If so, please attach.

Yes - See attached plans Sefton Council submitted as SMART actions in our
first year

5)    Is this plan delivering on time and to budget?

Unknown. We have not had our first year report collated as we are only in
Month 10.

6)    What are those timescales and budget?

Please see individual details associated with each action. There is no
budget specifically allocated to climate change adaptation although 0.5
FTE of an officer coordinates the delivery of the action plan.

7)    Are progress reports provided to Cabinet/Council (or similar), if
so, please attach.

Progress will be reported annually to Senior Leadership as it is delivered
to the Local Government Association. Senior Leadership will recommend any
additional reporting required to Cabinet if appropriate. As mentioned in
Point 5, we are not yet at this stage in the first year so cannot attach a
report.

Yours sincerely,
