Please could you provide statistics about the number of people who have attempted, successfully or unsuccessfully, to make a claim to yourselves for vehicle damage or personal injury caused by a pothole in 2018 and so far in 2019. If possible, I would also like to know the amount of the compensation awarded by the Council for these aforementioned dates.

Stockport Council will respond to your request within 20 working days from
the date of receipt. If there will be a charge for disbursements e.g.
photocopying in order to provide the information, we will inform you as

The relevant Council Service(s) has searched for the requested information
and our response is as follows.
Please could you provide statistics about the number of people who have
attempted, successfully or unsuccessfully, to make a claim to yourselves
for vehicle damage or personal injury caused by a pothole in 2018 and so
far in 2019. If possible, I would also like to know the amount of the
compensation awarded by the Council for these aforementioned dates.
2018 – number of claims received for potholes for personal injury and
damage is 103.
The current value of payments is £39,699.
2019 – number of claims received for potholes for personal injury and
damage is 52.
The current value of payments is £4,375.
Please note, the payments made don’t just include compensation but will
contain other claim costs such as own and third party solicitors costs.
