Your request will now be considered in accordance with the Freedom of

Good morning Sam

Can you please clarify what age you would classify as a "child".  17 and
under?  13 and under? 10 and under?  etc.

Please advise!

Kind regards

Sarah Browne

Dear Greater Manchester Police,

17 and under

Yours faithfully,

Greater Manchester Police

Good afternoon Sam

Can I clarify please; you mention words like "killer" and ask about
confession; are you only interested in murder crimes which resulted in the
suspect being charged?

Please be aware, to establish the reason for the murder and if the
offender confessed is likely to take over 18hrs as we would need to review
all the case papers.

Kind regards

Sarah Browne

Dear Greater Manchester Police,

I'm interested in all murders of children (17 and under)

"killer" is the person convicted of the murder (if known)

Yours faithfully,

Sam Guest

Greater Manchester Police

Hi Sam

Sorry I don't think I was clear in what I was getting at.

We record crimes of murder, and we can provide all crimes of murder for
the ages requested.

However, not all of those murder crimes will necessarily refer to a muder
definitely taking place.  The crime could be closed as no further action
if a natural cause of death is later established, or there may have been
insufficient evidence that a murder had taken place.

I propose providing crimes where an offender has been charged because
there is sufficient evidence that  a murder has taken place, and that a
person is responsible.

Kind regards

Sarah Browne
