Chester Zoo Fire Response
Dear Cheshire Fire Service,
Good afternoon,
On the morning of Saturday 15th December 2018 crews rapidly responded to a fire at Chester Zoo.
Could you please confirm the following information for us;
1- How many exactly fire response member of staff were deployed to this incident including but not limited to fire fighters, operational support, command staff, control staff and auxiliary support and as well as the figures please break down into the groups as above. Please also include animals eg investigation dog units
2- How many fleet resources were deployed to the fire and supporting activities? And if possible broken down jnto rype eg fire appliance wtaer, fire appliance foam, car, support vehicle, control vehicles, dog unit vehicles etc?
3- What was the total man-hours time committed by all resources deployed to this incident?
4- Can you confirm please whether it is policy (not particularly to this incident but in general to reseek costs of attending these incidents from insured parties?

3) The time in attendance, from the first vehicle attending to the last
vehicle leaving the scene, was 30 hours, 38 minutes and 57 seconds
4) It is not the policy of Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service to seek
costs from insured parties when attending incidents
