Chamberlayne Road, Kensal Rise, Scheduled Bus Services

The request was successful.

Dear Transport for London,

I have been informed that the frequencies, and therefore the number of scheduled bus services for route 452 operating on Chamberlayne Road, Kensal Rise, NW10, have been “permanently reduced”.

Please provide the number of “old” 452 scheduled services (northbound and southbound) operating daily on Chamberlayne, Monday through to Sunday. And the new numbers too.

Also, please provide the current daily scheduled services (north and southbound) for the remaining Chamberlayne routes - 6, 52, 187, 316, 302 and 28 (Monday through to Sunday) for the months of June and July 2018.

Please provide the requested data in an excel spreadsheet, using the table headings of previous foi requests on the same subject.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Fiona Mulaisho

Dear FOI,

Thank you for the data. Can you please clarify what is meant by "Tripcount" in the spreadsheet?
For example, and looking at the January spreadsheet, the Tripcount figure for route 6 (M-F) Northbound is given as 2,300.
Does this mean there was a total of 2300 Northbound bus services for route 6 between Monday and Friday; or 460 per day when divided by 5?

And as each service requires a bus this would translate into 2,300 buses for route 6 service being seen on Chamberlayne between Monday and Friday? In other words, if one was to stand at a fixed point on Chamberlayne, one would have seen 2300 buses for route 6 going past this point?

Or does this data relate to passenger trips, as this is not what I asked for? I asked for daily scheduled bus services for each of the 7 routes operating on Chamberlayne (M-F and Sat and Sun), and for the months of January 2018 through to August 2018.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Fiona

Thank you for your further e-mail. The first page of the document provide
information on what is scheduled for each route, whilst the remaining
monthly pages details the observed iBus data.

The Northbound/Southbound Tripcount is referring to the number of buses
observed passing along Chamberlayne Road, by our iBus system, in the
calendar month. For example, in January 2017 there were 2300 Route 6
weekday buses, observed by iBus passing along Chamberlayne Road between 1
January 2017 – 31 January 2017. This would be made up by totalling all the
Route 6 buses observed on each of the 21 Monday to Friday days during
January 2017. To obtain a daily average for buses observed on Route 6, in
January 2017, we would then just need to divide 2300 by 21, which would
give an average of 109.5 buses observed during a weekday in January 2017.
The day count for each month is placed under each monthly table.

If you have any further queries please let me know.
