A good question however, they would never tell you the truth anyway. The council is just another workplace and they would never tell you what really goes on behind the scenes and the truth regarding expenses.

What you really need is information about the section 151 officer as they are the one who should about all money transactions within the councils. By law they have to record everything that is spent.

Dear City of Edinburgh Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of City of Edinburgh Council's handling of my FOI request 'CEO and Directors Expenses'.

Can you please provide the information relating to the following expenses, in terms of category of expense - i.e mileage, stationary etc.

Alastair McLean
£148.43
Alastair does not use a credit or procurement card.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/c...

Yours faithfully,

Donald Mairs

The problem with foi requests is that these people provide us with only the info they have infront of them, that day.

Nobody knows the true expenses of these ceo or directors because they are behind the scenes.

Councils also pint their own commercial instruments such as promissory note (check out the bank of england BT forms, it states councils print their own money).

Council ceo and directors are ROLLING in "money", They create iou's and use us as the security.....for these loans.

We need to wake up and realize we are the creditors.
