Dear Bedfordshire and Luton Fire and Rescue Service,

Under the freedom of Information Act – I was hoping to obtain the following information:
Name(s) of person telephone number and email address of person responsible for managing CCTV and the Data. Who is responsible for purchasing CCTV and Data Storage of CCTV.
I also seek answers to the following questions:
How many cameras do you manage today? (Approximate 100 +?) Is that growing?
How do you store and manage your video today? (Network Video Recorders? Enterprise Storage?)
Has your company ever lost video, or experienced poor-quality playback of video files?
How critical is video to your company? What is the impact of not being able to access video or record video?
When was the last time you refreshed your surveillance storage hardware?
Do you have an upgrade/refresh date? If so when?
What is your budget for the refresh?

Yours faithfully,

Jay Rouf

Dear Bedfordshire and Luton Fire and Rescue Service,

Under the freedom of Information Act – I was hoping to obtain the
following information:
Name(s) of person telephone number and email address of person responsible
for managing CCTV and the Data.

Shared ICT Services, tel: 01234 845000, email: [1][email address]

Who is responsible for purchasing CCTV and Data Storage of CCTV.

Property Manager, Property Services

I also seek answers to the following questions:
How many cameras do you manage today? (Approximate 100 +?) Is that
growing?

Estimated 50 to 60 cameras, increasing as systems are upgraded.

How do you store and manage your video today? (Network Video Recorders?
Enterprise Storage?)

Footage is stored locally on DVRs but some are networked.

Has your company ever lost video, or experienced poor-quality playback of
video files?

Video has never been lost when needed.  Upgrades will resolve quality
issues.

How critical is video to your company? What is the impact of not being
able to access video or record video?

Important for security and incident evidence recording.

When was the last time you refreshed your surveillance storage hardware?

On-going with our approved provider.

Do you have an upgrade/refresh date? If so when?

On-going with our approved provider.

What is your budget for the refresh?

N/A

With regards to our vehicle mounted CCTV, we manage approximately 125-150
cameras which is not expected to grow significantly.

The current hardware has been fitted for the past 4-5 years and is
upgraded as new cameras, etc. are released, but not retro fitted to all
vehicles.

We will not be refreshing all our hardware in one go, there is no date set
and no budget allocated at this time.

Our Driving Instructors, Health and Safety Team and Response Support
Manager are authorised to view vehicle mounted CCTV.
Yours faithfully,

Jay Rouf
