Dear Torbay and Southern Devon Health and Care NHS Trust,

My brother had to spend a few months in Haytor Unit and on one visit I was attacked while visiting with my mother, there were no staff around as all seem most of the time to be very busy locked away in the office on there computers and phones (Facebook) comes to mind!!

But my questions are.

1) Why there is NO CCTV to protect staff visitors and of course patients fitted in this very scary ward?

2) Are staff allowed to be locked away all together in this office area? Are there any rules set in place to stop this that are clearly not followed?

3) How many complaints have you received about this unit in the last 12 months?

4) Did you receive my complaint which I have had no reply and still outstanding?

5) How many ethnic people have the Doctors sectioned compared the white people in the last 12 months?

5a) Which Doctors names please sectioned most ethnic patients?

6) How many times the Police have been called when the staff have forgotten to sign out patients for there time out?

7) Doctors in the Haytor unit seem to want to send patients to the Exeter home over the Paignton home for them, can you tel me why this is the case? When both do the same job.

Do they have shares or bonuses from the Exeter home as I can see no other reason why patients are forced to move so far away from there families?

8) Do Doctors have to take account of the right to respect for private and a family life when a families are requesting there family members are if under sections be held within the local area?

8a) when a patient is sectioned and held in the Paignton home what gives the Doctor the right to force that patient to moved away from his very supporting family out of his place in the Paignton care home to be taken to the Exeter home which is so far for him and the family to visit each other?

Causing the health of the patient to go down hill as no longer has the family to visit him?

9) Why are the families not being told of or invited to the meetings about there patient family members when held in the Haytor Unit?

Yours faithfully,

Wayne howard
