CCTV Footage Request of Theft

Gwrthodwyd y cais gan Hounslow Borough Council.

Dear Hounslow Borough Council,

I would like to view or obtain a copy of the CCTV coverage for the area surrounding The Mall, Boston Manor Road, Brentford for 10/04/2018 between 10:10 pm and 10:50 pm.

I am a victim of theft which occurred in the residential parking space of The Mall on Boston Manor Road, near Half Acre Bus Station (Stop SH).

The police report reference is 0507799/18.

The suspects were seen on the dashcam installed in my van driving off in a car after robbing 2 vans leaving a prejudice estimated at over £3000.

I was advised by the police officer assigned to my case to request any footage that might help identify the suspects as the video footage I have on the dashcam does not constitute enough evidence to be able to prosecute the suspects.

Please advise me of the information required and I would be more than happy to provide with anything that is necessary to move forward.

Yours faithfully,

Stefan Rusu.

CCTV, Hounslow Borough Council

Dear Stefan Rusu,

We've checked the camera near Half Acre Bus Station (Stop SH).

The camera was in its pre-set settings giving a very wide view of its surrounding area. During the day time, it shows very little coverage of the residential parking space as it overlooks the main road. During the night, the residential parking space is not seen as it is too dark.

No theft nor vehicles were captured on the camera during the date and times quoted below.

We only release CCTV footage to the Police (if they quote us a crime reference number), or an Insurance Company or Solicitors acting on their client's behalf.

Instructions for Insurance Company or Solicitor for obtaining the data is below:

The Council has set aside footage of the incident. The reference number for this is: C508 22:10 - 22:50 10.4.18 2018/286 (please quote this on all correspondence).

Payment Procedure

If you would like a copy of the data released to yourselves, we require the insurance company/solicitors to make a payment of £95. This covers our costs for recovery and copying of the data.

DO NOT SUPPLY DATA TO A PRIVATE PERSON – Contact an LBH member of staff.

Cheques should be made payable to London Borough of Hounslow and sent to:

London Borough of Hounslow
CCTV Hounslow

Information we must have before we release the footage Insurance companies/Solicitors need to provide the following information along with their payment:
1) Proof of their clients identity (e.g. driver’s license or passport)
2) Written authorisation for them to act upon their clients behalf
3) Written confirmation that the images and data will not be released to any third party and will only be used in connection with this investigation.

Upon receipt of the above we will arrange for the data to be sent to their insurance company or solicitors.
