CCG process to access choice mental health
Dear NHS Mid Essex Clinical Commissioning Group,
1, Could you please tell me what mid essex ccg form and process a gp has to use to access a patient's request to choose their NHS provider of mental health care?
2, Can you please tell me if it is necessary to show clinical exceptionality as part of the CCG to access the patient's choice of provider beyond Eput?
I know the CCG was advised to make changes by NHS England/Improvement in January 2021 with regards to choice.
Yours faithfully,
iain gordon

Dear NHS Mid Essex Clinical Commissioning Group,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of NHS Mid Essex Clinical Commissioning Group's handling of my FOI request 'CCG process to access choice mental health'.
I have dyslexia and comprehension difficulties
the CCG uses ambiguous terms a lot and drags correspondence out, both on purpose
please put my questions first and then the ccg response.
The ccg answer to my question one, confirms how unhelpful the ccg is to patiants.
AS EVER THE CCG RESPONSES ARE AMBIGUOUS AND DO NOT ANSWER THE QUESTIONS IN FULL
The question was and response
"2, Can you please tell me if it is necessary to show clinical exceptionality as part of the CCG to access the patient's choice of provider beyond EPUT?"
As per previous responses from the CCG, the Individual Funding Request (IFR) process must be engaged with to seek referral to a provider with whom the CCG does not have a commissioning contract. Further information on this is available on the CCG website:"
So for Choice in mental health providers beyond Eput
DO YOU HAVE TO SHOW CLINICAL EXCEPTIONALITY YES or NO?

Dear GEAR, Iain (NHS BASILDON AND BRENTWOOD CCG),
As a patient, trying to find out simple information for my NHS treatment,
This NHS has not provided the simple information request in a format I can comprehend.
I have asked the NHS previously on multiple occasions to make a reasonable adjustment due to my disabilities and answer my simple questions rather than referrer to its complex NHS procedures.
Therefore I request the NHS answer the simple foi questions I have put with eg clear none ambiguous answers eg yes or no.
As it is causing significant distress to me over a prolonged period of time and delaying my NHS treatment.
Yours sincerely,
iain gordon
