Cannabis related offenses

The request was successful.

Dear Thames Valley Police,

I'd like to know what is being done to tackle cannabis possession, supply and production in my area.

I would like to know the following information for 2015, 2016 and 2017:

- How many people were cautioned, arrested or convicted for cannabis possession?

- How many people were cautioned, arrested or convicted for cannabis production (for personal use and for the intent to supply)?

- How many people were cautioned, arrested or convicted for suppling cannabis?

Yours faithfully,

Lauren Wood

Public Access, Thames Valley Police

Dear

Thank you for your request for information.

Section 16 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) places a duty on
Thames Valley Police to assist applicants in making a successful request.
Section 1(3) of the same act states that a public authority need not
comply with a request where it has informed the applicant that it needs
further information to identify and locate the requested data. Therefore,
please could I ask you to consider the following:

·         Your request asks for information regarding ‘my area’, but does
not state what area this might be. ‘Areas’ often used by Thames Valley
Police can be local policing areas, neighbourhoods, local authority areas,
counties and the force area. Please provide the area that you are
interested in.

·         Please note that you have asked for cautions, arrests and
convictions. Court outcomes are not held in a searchable format and the
request will, in its current form, be refused under the provisions of
Section 12 of the FOIA for exceeding 18 hours work. The number of people
charged may be an alternative. Please confirm if you still wish to have
conviction data included.

I have placed the request on hold pending your clarification of the above
points. If I do not hear from you within 20 working days then I will
consider the request to be invalid.

Yours sincerely
