Dear West Mercia Police,

This request relates to the following offences set out in the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971:
i. Possession of Cannabis - s.5(1) of the Act;
ii. Possession of Cannabis with intent to supply - s.5(3) of the Act.

1. For each of these two offences separately, please supply the following data broken down by each year a) 2004, b) 2005, c) 2006, d) 2007, e) 2008 and f) 2009 g) 2015 h) 2016:
a) The total number of individuals arrested by your force
b) The total number of individuals cautioned by your force
c) The total number of individuals charged by your force

I write in connection with your request for information dated 18th March
2017 which was received on 20th March 2017.

Information Act 2000 (the Act).  You will receive a response within the
statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined by the Act, subject to
the information not being exempt or containing a reference to a third

I write in connection with your requests for information which were

requests for West Mercia Police (WMP) and Warwickshire Police (WP)

REPLY: Please be advised that a search of force systems has been conducted
for offences with a Recorded Date between 01/01/2004 and 31/12/2016 where
the Role was equal to Suspect or Accused and where the HO Class and
SubClass code was one of the following:

092.61 Possess a controlled drug of Class B - cannabis / cannabis resin
092.66 Possess cannabis a class C controlled drug
092.81 Possess with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class B -
cannabis
092.86 Possess with intent to supply cannabis a class C controlled drug

And for arrests with an Arrest Date between 01/01/2004 and 31/12/2016

Please note that the earliest recorded arrest on the system for WMP has an
arrest date of 25/04/2007, and the earliest recorded arrest on the system
for WP has an arrest date of 19/06/2007.
