Bus Stop Reposition

Dear Transport for London,
I would like to complain regarding the Shelter number 0125 3597 (R), positioned in front of my house in Stratford.
The position of the bus stop is causing a series of serious issues, regarding safety, hygiene, accessibility and privacy.
The narrow footpath and the recently increased size of the shelter, positioned directly in front of my house mean that the footpath users have to use the road to get passed and our entrance to wait for the bus during peak time.
The bus stop itself enables loitering with numerous occasions where people with antisocial behaviour were exchanging drugs and littering not only around the bus stop but more often than not in our property.
It precludes us from using the front room as people waiting are very close (less than a meter) to the windows and they tend to look inside the property while waiting, forcing us to have the windows blocked at all times.
The shelter creates a noisy and unsafe environment outside the property at all hours.
The shelter's light is too strong and creates a spotlight into our front room.
The shelter would be better suited outside the shops positioned just a few meters away on 76 Portway, alternatively outside Simply Tills at number 140 where the footpath is larger.

We would like to know how to request the reposition of such shelter to a more appropriate and less intrusive location. What are the minimum requirements required of a footpath in order for a large bus shelter to be installed? And how close can this shelter be to a private property?

FYI
These are the current measurements:
Footpath width 2.8m
Shelter roof 1.9m
Shelter base 1.2m

Measurements against the property:
Property to shelter roof: 0.95m (LESS THAN 1 METRE)

Yours faithfully,
A. Ruffo

Dear Andrea Ruffo

TfL Ref: FOI-0422-2223

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 23
May 2022, asking for information about a bus stop shelter outside your
property.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of
the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can
confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked:

What are the minimum requirements required of a footpath in order for a
large bus shelter to be installed? And how close can this shelter be to a
private property?

This shelter was upgraded from Insignia to Landmark London in April 2022.
The previous shelter was installed at the same location in 1999. Please
find attached our guidelines on bus stop and shelter installations which
include the minimum requirements as requested. TfL consult the borough
before a bus stop and shelter can be re-sited, however we do not if it is
replaced in the same location.

We would like to know how to request the reposition of such shelter to a
more appropriate and less intrusive location.

Please contact TfL’s customer services via
[1]https://tfl.gov.uk/help-and-contact/. They will liaise with the correct
team to deal with your inquiry.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable
to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to
appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would
like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely
