Building control report: 13B James Street

Norma Sword made this Rhyddid Gwybodaeth request to Oxford City Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

We're waiting for Norma Sword to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Oxford City Council,

I am writing to request the above report, which I believe was carried out by a Senior Building Control Surveyor on the 09/08/12. Bannits, Letting Agency of Oxford, have converted James Street into 2 separate flats & "handed" the upstairs flat to my daughter & 2 other University students on the 4th July & commenced charging rent from 1st July. On our inspection we noted several alarming fire & safety issues within the property & after contacting the Building Control dept ourselves, were informed that Bannits had not contacted the dept & no final inspection had been made on the flat. I am asking if we could have a copy of the inspection please, to see the highlighted issues & to establish that the property was not fit for purpose/occupancy 1st July as stated by Bannits. We wish to take this matter of Bannits neglect further & intend to claim for rent paid whilst they are not in possession of a completion certificate.

Yours faithfully,
Mrs Norma Sword
