FOI Requests, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills

Dear Mr Nash
Freedom of Information Request 12/0178
Thank you for your email of 4 February where you requested information
regarding the British Iranian  Chamber of Commerce.

We do hold information falling within the terms of your request, however
we need more time to consider your request.
The Freedom of Information Act obliges us to respond to requests promptly
and in any case not later than 20 working days after receiving your
request. However, when a "qualified" exemption applies to the information
and an accompanying public interest test is engaged, section 10(3) of the
Act allows the time for response to be longer, in which case a full
response must be provided within such time as is reasonable in all
circumstances. In the case of your request, I can confirm that we hold
information which falls within the scope of your request, but we have not
yet reached a decision on where the balance of public interest lies.

The exemption that applies to the information that you have requested is
Section 43 (Commercial Interests).
I expect to let you have a response by 2 April.  We will, of course, reply
before this date if possible.
Yours sincerely
