Bournemouth Road Complaints

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council,

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I’d like to make a request regarding complaints filed against the roads regulated by your authority.

During these time periods:
01/04/2014 - 31/03/2015
01/04/2015 - 31/03/2016
01/04/2016 - 31/03/2017
01/04/2017 - 31/03/2018
01/04/2018 - 31/03/2019

Specifically, I’d like to request data on which roads have had the most complaints filed against them regarding their condition.

If this could include:
The specific roads which receive the most complaints regarding road conditions.
The amount of complaints received regarding condition for each of the roads above.

If I could please receive the data in a spreadsheet format, that would be fantastic. Feel free to get in touch if you require any clarification from myself.

Yours faithfully,

Russ Hunter

Dear Mr Hunter

Thank you for your request submitted under the Freedom of Information Act.

Following the merger of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council’s on
01/04/2019 different procedures were introduced and the email system that
you used has not been monitored but a divert was placed on it to our
enquiries teams for them to process requests. It appears that this divert
failed to pass your message on, even though you received an
auto-acknowledgement your request has not been dealt with and we apologise
for this.

We have now passed your request to the relevant Service Unit, we realise
that this will mean a delay to providing a response but please be assured
that action has been taken to respond as soon as possible.

Please note the email to submit FOI’s to BCP Council
is: [1][BCP Council request email] .

Kind regards

Dear Mr Hunter

Your request for information has been passed to me for action and I can
only apologise that it has taken some time to respond.

BCP Council was formed on 1 April 2019 and it merged together Bournemouth
Borough Council, Christchurch District Council and the Borough of Poole.

Bournemouth and Poole were unitary authorities both with responsibility
for highways but Dorset County Council was at that time responsible for
Christchurch’s highways.

I will be able to arrange to get information for Poole and for Bournemouth
but you will need to contact the newly formed Dorset Council for
information regarding highways in Christchurch.

Either myself or my colleague will contact you with the information in due
course but if this takes more than 18 hours to compile we will email you
before providing it, as there will be a charge for the information.

Kind Regards

Judy

Dear Mr Hunter

I have requested the information for Poole highways from our Digital Data
Officer.

Unfortunately, we have changed from one system to another in the five year
period that you requested and have been advised that this work will take
in excess of 18 hours to collect.  There will therefore be a charge for
this information.

Would you like me to find out what this charge would be?

I am still awaiting information from our Bournemouth colleagues.

Kind Regards

Judy

Hi Judy,

Thank you for bringing this to my attention, it's much appreciated.

I don't think it'll be necessary to find out the charge for the information, I don't wish to pursue the information any further if it will run over the allotted time granted within the FOI Act.

Apologies for my request being so complex across the various systems!

Yours sincerely,

Russ Hunter

Hi Mr Hunter

Do you still want me to pursue the information from colleagues in Bournemouth?

Regards

Judy
