Rhyddid Gwybodaeth / Freedom of Information
Dear Brychan Davies,
Freedom of Information (ref 518)
The Freedom of Information Act requires us to help people obtain the
information they are looking for.
Unfortunately, the amount of information you have requested is
substantial, and gathering it together would therefore be likely to
involve a significant cost.
When calculating the cost of complying with a written request, the Council
will calculate the time taken by an individual member of staff, charged at
a rate of £25 per hour, to do the following:
i) Determining whether the Council holds the information
ii) Locating the information or document
iii) Retrieving the relevant information
iv) Extracting the relevant information from a document.
In this case, providing a response to the questions other than question 1
would involve manually checking 7,000 current blue badges against
individual addresses and cross referencing two different computer systems.
As such, we have estimated that it would take a week to extract this
information.
Therefore, your request certainly seems likely to exceed the £450 cost
limit (equivalent to 2 and half days work) which the Government has set
for dealing with Freedom of Information requests.
However, we are able to provide you a response to question 1.
If you are unable or unwilling to narrow down your request we will, of
course, consider it in accordance with our obligations under the Freedom
of Information Act 2000, but if it does exceed the cost limit, we will
have to refuse the request.
Please let me know how you would like us to proceed.
Yours sincerely,
Gwawr Owen
