Dear Mr Homer,

Thank you for your information request of 17 August 2020.  Aberdeen City
Council (ACC) has completed the necessary search for the information
requested. Our response is now detailed below.

How many regular car parking bays are there in all of the council-owned
car parks across the council area?

There is capacity* for approximately 1802 motor cars in car parks open to
the general public for parking (some of these are subject to ‘pay &
display’ control and classed as ‘short stay’ or ‘long stay’ – Visit
[1]https://www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/services...).

There is also capacity* for 2546 motor cars at ‘park & ride’ sites (Visit
[2]https://www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/services...).

*Please note the above figures will be inclusive of any bays that have
been converted for the exclusive use by disabled badge holders, or
electric vehicles, or ‘Car Club’ vehicles. It is also assumed your
question relates to general off-street car parks, as opposed to those that
could be associated with Council Housing, internal to a recreational park
etc.

How many disabled car parking bays are there in all of the council-owned
car parks across the council area?

We do not hold a record of the specific number of disabled car parking
bays installed across all the Council owned car parks that are available
to the general public for parking. (We are reviewing this, and it is
intended to update the Council website in the Autumn/Winter).

We are unable to provide you with information on the number of disabled
car parking bays in all council-owned car parks across the council area as
it is not held by the Council.  In order to comply with our obligations
under the terms of Regulation 10(4)(a) - Information Not Held - of the
EIRs, we hereby give notice that this information is not held by us.  We
are required by Regulation 10(1)(b) of the EIRs to inform you as to why in
all the circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining this
exception outweighs the public interest in disclosing this information to
you.  We are satisfied that we do not hold this information and consider
that, as there is no information held, the public interest lies with the
exception.

How many people held a blue badge disabled parking permit issued by the
council as at 30 August 2019?

10,776.

How many applications for blue badge disabled parking permits has the
council received since 30 August 2019?

2,680.

How many of these applications for blue badge disabled parking permits
received since 30 August 2019 has the council:

1. Approved

2,310.

2. Directly refused

151.

3. Refused due to an incomplete request

16.

How many applications for blue badge disabled parking permits has the
council received from applicants with hidden/non-visible disabilities
([3]https://www.gov.uk/government/news/peopl...)
since 30 August 2019?

If you are referring to the change in eligibility criteria regarding
‘hidden disabilities’ introduced in August 2019 this applies to England
only.

How many of these applications for blue badge disabled parking permits
received from applicants with hidden/non-visible disabilities
([4]https://www.gov.uk/government/news/peopl...)
since 30 August 2019 has the council:

1. Approved

Not applicable, please see response above.

2. Directly refused

Not applicable, please see response above.

3. Refused due to an incomplete request

Not applicable, please see response above.

Could the council please provide the answers to all of the above questions
by downloading this read-only Googlesheet
[5]https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...
and filling out its answers in one row of the download, re-saving it and
it sending it back as an attachment in response in a .csv file format?

Please refer to the attached document EIR-20-0807 – Car Parking.
