Birmingham's transport plan and people with disabilities
Dear Birmingham City Council,
I would like to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act.
I currently work in Birmingham city centre (Colemore square) but do not live in Birmingham. As I am disabled, and use a wheelchair, I commute by taxi each day.
Would Birmingham City Council’s transport plan, prevent taxis travelling from outside of Birmingham to drive to Birmingham city centre when it comes into effect?
How has Birmingham City Council’s transport plan taken into account the needs of disabled people who have no choice but to travel to the city centre other than by car?
If so what provision does the plan make?
Has there been an equality impact assessment regarding the proposed transport plan and its effects on people with disabilities?
If so, could I please have a copy of this?
Thank you very much for your assistance. I look forward to hearing from you in no more than 20 working days.
Yours faithfully,
James Apperley
