Dear InfoMgr, FinDMT,

Thank you for your response. Given the high cost of replacing the lead please could you advise what action is being taken to prevent future thefts and subsequent cost to the city treasury.

Please indicate if CCTV will be fitted and monitored in order to provide 24/7 surveillance of this important public asset and if so when will it be installed and at what cost.

Please provide information on the rents being paid for north and south lodge by each organisation.

Yours sincerely,

Jim Barrington

regarding Birkenhead Park.  Please see below our response to your
enquiries.

Given the high cost of replacing the lead please could you advise what
action is being taken to prevent future thefts and subsequent cost to the
city treasury.

o The new lead being replaced will be marked with a SelectaDNA reducing
the resale value of the stolen lead -  this decreases the value of
lead.
o Access portals which were used by the thieves to access the roof have
been permanently secured.
o Community Patrol and M/Police are paying extra special attention the
area.

Please indicate if CCTV will be fitted and monitored in order to provide
24/7 surveillance of this important public asset and if so when will it be
installed and at what cost.

o (4) new CCTV cameras have been installed, at the present time they are
monitored via a HD recording device which is controlled by parks
staff. It is the Council’s aim to have the CCTV system monitored 24/7
by the Council Control room. Total cost for CCTV (4 )cameras +
installation: £3,329

Please provide information on the rents being paid for north and south
lodge by each organisation.

o The North lodge is occupied by Wirral Council officers who are working
towards promoting Birkenhead Park.  Therefore this is no rental fee.

o The South lodge is being occupied by a third party and as such we are
consulting with the tenant as per [1]s45 foia2000   as this may be
potentially commercially sensitive financial information, Wirral
Council therefore intend to update you in this regard to this question
as soon as we are in a position to do and we thank you for your
