Dear Bromsgrove District Council,

I hear that a number of residents have had their wheelie bins destroyed after your wagons have accidentally crushed them whilst being emptied. Can you please tell me how many complaints you've received and who will be picking up the bill to supply them with new bins.

Yours faithfully,

Marcus Bennett

Dear Mr Bennett

Thank you for your recent Information request. I can now offer you the
following information:

-       Complaints re bins being destroyed by being accidently crushed by
the bin wagon – No information held – we do not appear to have had any
complaints regarding this.

-       Who picks up the bill for new bins - Our wheelie bins are bought
with capital funds and are budgeted over a seven year period.  What we
mean is, bins have a life span of around 7 – 10 years and so we expect
bins to need replacing or to fail – i.e plastic becomes weak and bin falls
in wagon or bin splits.

I hope this resolves your enquiry and that you are satisfied with the
response.

However, if you are dissatisfied with the way your request has been
handled, you have the right to request an internal review.

If you are still dissatisfied following a review by the Council, you have
the right to complain to the Information Commissioner. You can contact the
Information Commissioner at:
