I am doing research on the way different schools handle behaviour. I request for the following information:

- Reasons for Achievement/Behaviour on school systems
(e.g. "Type" on Capita School Management System)

- Any forms associated with rewarding or punishing behaviour
(e.g. request for exclusion, referral forms, etc.)

You are obliged to make a response within 20 days. If you do not respond, I will request an internal review, or make a complaint with the Information Commissioner.

Thank you for your request for information dated 11 July 2018 about
behaviour management. We have dealt with this under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000.

Achievement types in SIMS are as follows:

coursework/revision session

·         Student asked to see teacher – rudeness to staff

·         Student asked to see teacher – disruption of lesson

·         Student asked to see teacher – homework not handed in

·         Student asked to see teacher – lack of learning

·         Student asked to see teacher – lack of equipment

·         Lack of PE kit

·         Did not attend meeting with teacher

·         Did not attend late detention at lunchtime

·         Student asked to see HoD/HoF – failed to see subject
teacher

·         Student asked to see HoD/HoF – lack of effort over
sustained period

·         Student asked to see HoD/HoF – Homework failure over a
period

·         Multiple concerns over short period of time

·         Persistent challenging behaviour outside of lessons

·         Persistent challenging behaviour across a number of subject
areas

·         Lack of effort over a sustained period and/or homework
concern

·         Referral from HOD/HOF after unsuccessful interventions at
department level

·         Failure to act on all previous steps taken by members
of staff

·         Very serious incident – Removed to faculty time-out

·         Very serious incident – Removed by on-call

·         First aid room visit (this is not used as a sanction for the
individual it is recorded against on the system but to ensure we have this
information recorded in order to effectively monitor the issue)

·         Target of physical abuse (this is not used as a sanction for the
individual it is recorded against on the system but to ensure we have this

·         Target of verbal abuse (this is not used as a sanction for the
individual it is recorded against on the system but to ensure we have this

·         Target of unkindness (this is not used as a sanction for the

·         Target of serious unkindness (this is not used as a sanction
for the individual it is recorded against on the system but to ensure we
have this information recorded in order to effectively monitor the issue)

·         On green report to Tutor

·         On amber report to YTL/LP/BSM

·         On blue report to Student Progress Leader

·         On orange report to HoF

·         On red report to Director of Learning

·         Student statement requested/completed following an incident
(this is not used as a sanction for the individual it is recorded against
on the system but to ensure we have this information recorded in order to
effectively monitor the issue)

·         Bullying: repeated & over time

·         Selling items

·         Use of racist, sexist, homophobic or other offensive language

·         Outside lessons – chewing gum

·         Outside lessons – litter

·         Outside lessons – use of phone or electronic device

·         Outside lessons – sugary or fizzy drink

·         Outside lessons – play-fighting

·         Outside lessons – other more serious incident

·         IER – Bringing the school into disrepute

·         IER – Bullying & harassment repeated & over time including
cyber-bullying & prejudice-based bullying

·         IER – Challenging staff authority

·         IER – Minor physical assault including play-fighting and water
fights
