Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on
19^th June 2020 asking for information about taxi and private hire vehicle
drivers.

 

Please note, the Government has announced a series of measures to tackle
the coronavirus. It is essential for London that we continue to provide a
safe transport network for essential journeys.

 

In current circumstances, we are not able to answer FOI requests readily
and we ask that you please do not make a request to us at present.

 

Answering FOI requests will require the use of limited resources and the
attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. In
any event, please note that our response time will be affected by the
current situation. Please notify us as soon as possible if you would like
to withdraw your request at the current time.

response by 20^th July 2020 in accordance with the Freedom of Information
Act 2000 and our information access policy. We publish a substantial

performance, contracts, expenditure, journey data, governance and our

3. How many racial incidents have been reported to you during the past
year, by the taxi/private hire drivers?

 

TfL does not hold this information. It is likely that incidents of this
description would be reported to the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS),
City of London Police and/or the operator the driver receives private hire
bookings from.

 

4. What support do you provide to your taxi/private hire drivers when they
report a racial incident to you?

 

As the licensing authority and regulator for London's taxi and private
hire services, we take the health and wellbeing of licensees seriously.

 

We publish a range of wellbeing and support information on our website for
licensees

If an incident of this nature is brought to our attention, we would
encourage the licensee to report it to the MPS or City of London Police
who would be able to investigate or take appropriate action.

 

5. How many BAME representive do you have as stakeholders to represent
drivers?

 

We consider all taxi and private hire licensees to be stakeholders. Please
refer to the information provided in question 2.

 

6. Please could you supply me with your policy that governs your work on
support for taxi/ private hire drivers.
