Average full economic cost (to the university) of a degree in engineering

The request was refused by University of Bedfordshire.

Dear University of Bedfordshire,

Engineering is a high-cost course to deliver, and should be funded adequately, if the UK is to recover its position as a leading engineering nation.

Please provide the average full economic cost (to the university) of the most popular (by number of students on the degree) undergraduate (including combined undergraduate & graduate e.g. MEng) degree in engineering at the University. Please include all costs directly and indirectly associated with the activity e.g. including staff pension costs and IT costs. Please include all costs that can be reasonably attributed to the degree using the data that you have.

Yours faithfully,

Dr Jim Partridge
