Attendance penalty notices

The request was successful.

Dear Lambeth Borough Council,

Section 444 of the 1996 Education Act and subsequent amendments give statutory powers to local education authorities to ensure that children attend school and are given an education. I am interested in the number of attendance penalty notices that have been issued since 31/08/13 to date and the number of these penalty notices that relate to students from private fee paying schools and those penalty notices that relate to students from public sector schools.
I am aware of s12, Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the £450 cost ceiling and ask the request be expanded to any penalty notices issued between 01/09/12-31/08/13 be included if this does not breech the £450 cost limit.

Yours faithfully,

Langford (MR)
